Do Not Be Afraid

Standard

Sydney’s memory verse for the month is Deuteronomy 31:6, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid.” She has mastered the memory verse, and I have been working on explaining the meaning to her.

The other night, she was so proud of herself for remembering the verse. She kept saying it over and over. It was cute to see how proud she was. She knew she was doing something right & loved the approval she got from it.

As we headed to bed, she was procrastinating as usual. Then she said, “Daddy, I’m scared.” (It’s a usual tactic she uses to stall going to sleep.) Ryan said back to her, “Do not be afraid.” We waited to see what her response would be. Then this sweet voice said, “Thanks, Daddy!” That was it. She was fine & went on to sleep! Such an awesome moment!
