Saturday was go, go, go! We had such a great day! October always starts the rat race for us. It’s super fast from now until after the holidays. This year, it’s going to be even more chaotic since we’ll be getting ready for “Charlie” to make her arrival. 🙂
Since the rest of our weekends this month are spoken for, we decided to hit all of the “October” things we do as a family in one day! Whew! It was exhausting, but soooooo much fun!
We started the day with an attempted picnic at Saunders Springs. It was a beautiful day, & we found the perfect place to eat. Once getting our food out & starting to eat, the bees decided to join us. We found a second place to eat, and more bees. We finally decided that eating in the outdoors was not worth a bee sting for any of us, so we gladly ate in the car on the way to our next stop.
For the past two years, we have gone to Huber Farms. Usually, we make a day of it. This year, since we were packing a lot into the day, we didn’t have time for a whole day. However, we did ride an old carriage around the farm, let Sydney play in the kids area, saw several different farm animals, and got a soda from the soda shop. We would have loved to do more, but will saved it for next year.
After the farm, we headed to the “World’s Largest Halloween Party” at the Louisville Zoo. This year was by far the most fun year for us! Sydney got to ride on a school bus for the first time (shuttle to the zoo). She LOVED it! I admit, it did make me teary knowing that it won’t be too long before she’s on one all by herself heading to school. Where does the time go?! ANYWAY, Sydney really enjoyed dressing up as Tinker Bell & seeing some of the characters! They even had a few of her favorites: the Wizard of Oz characters, Alice in Wonderland, Snow White, Belle and Jasmine! It was pure joy for me to see her face light up when she saw Snow White, Belle, and Jasmine! This pregnant lady was tired by the time we got to the zoo, much less walked through it. The moment I saw her smile, made everything worth it! I wouldn’t miss it for the world!
The rest of this month will continue as this weekend went. Next weekend is Ryan’s weekend with the Navy, which means that there is no break for us for 2 weeks. Following that, will be Sydney’s birthday. We plan to celebrate a little here and a little in Paducah. For the last weekend in October, we are heading to visit some great friends in Montgomery! Such a fun month! November and December look a lot the same. Before we know it, this little bambino will be here & we’ll be saying, “where did the last few months go?!” Can’t wait for all the fun that’s in store!
