Happy Birthday, Sydney!!!

Today is my “baby” girl’s birthday!! She’s turning 3 today! Where did the last 3 years go? I know, I’ll probably be saying that every year! It just seems like time is flying by. I’m a stay-at-home mom, but I still feel like I’m not catching everything! I’m so thankful to be home with her everyday. I wouldn’t change one minute of it for anything in the world!

Unfortunately, Sydney started getting sick on Sunday. She’s had a fever, sore throat, coughing, and congestion. I took her to the doctor yesterday. He determined that she has a bacterial infection. I hate seeing my little one sick! It is the most helpless feeling in the world! I also hated knowing that she is going to be sick on her birthday. 😦 Luckily, she woke up in great spirits this morning & has some of her energy back! Yay! She’s not back to 100% yet, but at least she feels like having a birthday!

This morning, I looked at her and said “Happy Birthday!” She just kind of looked at me. She was giving me the “I don’t want to get up” look. I looked away and when I looked back I saw the biggest smile on her face! So, I told her “happy birthday” again and asked her how old she was today. She didn’t answer. So I said, “You’re 2 today, right?!” She said “no” with a smile. Then said “I’m THREE!” 🙂 It’s neat to see her start understanding birthdays. She’s even getting to where she’s understanding Christmas a little bit! 🙂 I’m looking forward to that holiday this year, but I’m not going to wish my days away!

Happy Birthday, sweet girl! I love you so very much! I look forward to what 3 brings us! LOVE YOU!!
