We have had a good time over the past week and a half! Ryan was off all week last week!! We headed to Paducah weekend before last to celebrate my 30th birthday with my folks. It was a great weekend. I got my steak dinner at Texas Roadhouse & went shopping. Who could ask for a better birthday!!
Sunday evening, Ryan and I headed to Elizabethtown minus Sydney. She got a few days with Gigi and Paw Paw. Although she sees them fairly often, they never have time just the three of them. Anyway, Ryan and I headed to Bardstown, KY for a few days on Monday morning. We stayed at a really neat bed & breakfast called Rosemark Haven. I have never stayed at a b & b. So, I was a little nervous. It was great! We got up in the mornings to a delicious breakfast & then headed out to do whatever we felt like doing. We also ate at the Old Talbott Tavern. It was built in 1779! Very cool. We also toured My Old Kentucky Home. We had a great time just getting away. It was a celebration of my 30th birthday & Ryan’s completion of his bachelor’s degree!!
After getting back to Paducah, we enjoyed time with family. Friday night we were with our Reidland family at their Friday night service. It was pretty cool. Saturday, we went to their Easter Egg Hunt. Sydney was very funny this year. Once she discovered there was candy in the eggs, she was NOT giving up her basket…not even for mommy to hold while she goes and plays!
Sydney hunting Easter Eggs at Reidland
Sydney wondering, “Do I REALLY want to put my hand under that shrub??”
The basket is getting heavy & is almost as big as she is but she’s DETERMINED to carry it!
After the Easter Egg Hunt, we headed to Ryan’s parents’ house. We spent the rest of the day there with his parents and his brother’s family. Of course, that means that my adorable niece, Zoë was there!! We haven’t seen them since November. So, we were very glad to be able to spend some time just hanging out.
Zoë saying, “Aunt Lesli is funny!” Sydney saying, “Mom, what are you doing?!”
My little family Easter Sunday (Sydney wouldn’t smile, so we tried getting her to blow kisses.)
Sunday, we went to Lone Oak church & then visited with his family for the afternoon. Once evening came, it was time to hit the road back to Elizabethtown. We were all glad to get back to our beds, but we were sad to be leaving family & ending our vacation. If only vacations could last forever…
