(For those of you with Google Reader, yes, this post is a duplicate. You aren’t going crazy. ;o) Well, not because of this blog anyway!)
This post is going to be a little long, so please hang with me.
Thursday, Sydney and I went to one of the malls in Chattanooga. It was the next exit up, which was perfect! It gave us somewhere to go to spend a few hours before going back to the hotel at nap time. We were able to eat lunch & shop a little before going back…window shop mostly, but it was nice to get out.
While we were at the mall, Sydney saw Santa. Now, if you remember anything about last year, you’ll remember that Sydney was scared of Santa. So, my expectations were quite low for this year. At the beginning of this holiday season (when the music & decorations started going up at KY Oaks Mall), Sydney did not remember who “Ho Ho” was. So, I was a little nervous that she wouldn’t like him this year. However, when we strolled by Santa, she waved and just smiled. She turned around in her stroller and said, “Santa!!” This Santa was quite believable! So, I sent Ryan a text and asked him if we could see if we could get her to sit in Santa’s lap on Friday. He agreed & was glad to hear that we found a Santa that was believable. The one in KY Oaks Mall last year was quite sorry looking…sorry, Santa. He was very skinny. His beard was grey, and he just looked scary.
On Friday, we headed back to the mall when Ryan got off. She did great! She was a little nervous at first, but after Santa started talking to her, she was great! Here is the picture:
After we saw Santa, we ate lunch and headed to Atlanta!!! We had free nights built up with Choice Hotels thanks to all of Ryan’s travels. So, we took advantage of it & headed south to see our new niece, Zoë. We arrived in Atlanta that afternoon. It was nice to get in and relax a little before heading over.
Friday night was pretty relaxed. We ordered pizza & just enjoyed each other’s company. It was so great getting to meet & cuddle with Miss Zoë. 🙂
Saturday, we went to the Georgia Aquarium. It was very cool! Sydney LOVED it. I really don’t think I have ever seen this child as excited as she was. She kept saying, “Come on guys. Follow me!” It really was like a kid in a candy store. I truly think that Christmas has a lot of competing to do! Below is a video of her in her favorite room. It was ours, too. However, when she went into this room she just lit up. She kept dancing in a circle saying, “I SO HAPPY!!!, I SO HAPPY!!!” It was quite cute, if you ask me! (The video is quite grainy. I’m not really sure how to make it smaller. Sorry!! I’m sure my techy husband could figure it out, but he’s not here.)Vodpod videos no longer available.

After the Aquarium, we headed back to the hotel for naps. We all were able to take a Saturday afternoon nap! That is rare in this family. So, it was a cherished event!
Following our nap, we headed back over to Kit & Laura’s house to visit them and play with Zoë. We got pictures of the two girls. It was an experience! If Sydney was looking and smiling, poor Zoë would be crying. If Zoë looked like she was happy & comfortable, we wouldn’t be able to get Sydney to smile. So, I can’t say it was the most fun we’ve all ever had, but we did get a few cute pictures. Later in the evening, Laura captured a few pictures for us on our camera. Here’s the best one:

(Notice Sydney has a video camera. She paused from taking Zoë’s picture to play with her.)
Yesterday morning was sad. We knew we were heading 6 hours away from Kit, Laura, and little Zoë. The next time we will see her, she’ll probably be up and moving! Crazy!! Thanks, Kit & Laura, for letting us come visit. We understand that this time in your life is quite exhausting. So, you taking the time out for us was very gracious! Love you all!!
It was nice to get home last night & back in our own beds. Now, off to do laundry. After all, we head back out on Wednesday afternoon for Thanksgiving in Paducah!
